Since its inception in June 2007, LISA has strived to achieve the goals, which it has set for itself. As a step towards that it has ventured into the areas of Education & Medical aid in its first year of operations. LISA, to carry out its service activities initially has adopted the slum area of Telugu talli nagar, suraram colony based at Hyderabad. It has identified & selected 13 students from the above colony and has provided monetary support to their education in the academic year 2008-09. And based on their performance in their studies LISA has decided to extend its support to 9 of the above students this academic year also. Apart from the above, LISA had extended a monetary help to a student for payment of his fees for his higher studies. The first medical camp was conducted by LISA at the same venue on 30th March 2008 which was attended by around 250 physically challenged people. Four eye operations were also undertaken in this camp. In addition to the above, LISA also helped in mobilization of funds to meet the medical expenditure of a child who was undergoing a treatment for Leukemia at Indo American Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad.
